Barbara Waltz Barnes, age 99, of Westminster, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Lorien Mt. Airy. She was born November 16, 1917 in Winfield, MD the daughter of the late Clifton Miller Waltz and the late Effie Pedicord Waltz. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Barnes, Sr. of 68 years, which he died October 7, 2007. She was a homemaker; also worked at Hamilton Associates with the dental equipment. She was a Charter member of Winfield Community Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and member of Ebenezer U.M. Church; Devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the mother of Charles W. Barnes, Jr. and wife Mazie of Winfield; Grandmother of Steven W. and Diane Barnes of Mt. Airy and Susan L. and Edward Rodriguez of Winfield; great grandmother of Sarah and Bryan Barnes of Mt. Airy and Meredith and David Rodriguez of Winfield; Sister of the late Clifton “Buddy” Miller Waltz and the late Margaret Perryman and the late Mary Jane Beck; also survived by nieces and nephews. Graveside inurnment service will be held at Taylorsville U.M. Church Cemetery in Taylorsville with Rev. Judith A. Emerson of Ebenezer U.M. Church officiating on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the favorite charity of choice in her name.
