Melvin Leppo

Melvin E. Leppo, age 89, of Sykesville, MD, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his home. He was born May 15, 1926 in Carroll County, Maryland, the son of the late Joseph Edward Leppo and the late Margaret Blum Leppo. He was the husband of Regina Dell Leppo. He Served in the US Army. Graduated from Western Maryland College with a degree in Chemistry. He was a self-employed Dairy Farmer. He was a charter member of Winfield & Community Volunteer Fire Department; served on the Board of Directors Maryland Coop Milk Producers for 21 years and Board of Directors of Dairymen Coop., member of the Maryland Agricultural Commission, and active on the boards of: Farm Bureau, Southern States, Carroll Petroleum and Soil Conservation. He enjoyed going on bus trips with the Church of the Open Door, and he attended Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg. Surviving are his children; Alice Lee King & husband Don of Sykesville, Brian Leppo and wife Leisa of Sykesville, Terry Finch and husband Ray of Finksburg, Amy Smith and husband Chuck of Sykesville and Kim Nichols and husband Chris of Finksburg; brother of Edith Clisso of Baltimore, Irene Pickett of Westminster and the late Norval Taylor and the late Anna Jane Taylor; and 14 grandchildren, Joshua, Tara and Shaena Smith, Shannan, Alex and Ryan Finch, Amber, Lindsay, C.J. and Matt Nichols, Jordon and Brooke Leppo and David and Michael King; and 4 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM; with a Winfield Vol. Fire Co. Memorial Service at 8:00 PM; and viewing Friday, June 5, 2015 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Carrollton Church of God, 1901 Carrollton Road, Finksburg, MD with Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Dave Meador officiating.
