For Carroll County Times Stuart Carlton Walton, Sr, 78, of Mt Airy MD, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family, on Saturday November 5, 2016 at Carroll County Hospital. Stuart was born February 8, 1938 in Louisa, VA to the late John and Clarice Walton. For 58 years, Stuart was the loving husband of Barbara Lumsden Walton. He was the proud father of Carlton ( Joann) Walton, Jennifer ( Wayne) Golliday, Kim ( Steve )Ritz, and Steve (Laurie) Walton. He was a great supporter of his foster daughters Charlotte Barrett and Mary Mc Cray. He was the doting grandfather of Kylie, Iain, Morgan, Jessica, Jarrett, Evan, Megan, Grace, Ava and Keira. Stuart loved his faithful canine companion Tommy so much, he FaceTimed him while he was on vacation. Visitation is on Friday, November 11 from 5 to 7pm at the Burrier- Queen Funeral Home at 1212 West Old Liberty Road , Winfield MD. Light refreshments will follow the visitation at the funeral home. Graveside services ( open to all ) will be on Saturday November 12 at 1pm at the Hillcrest Cemetery ,175 Oak Leaf Drive, Louisa VA. Following the service, friends and family are invited to lunch at Gilboa Christian Church 6780 Jefferson Highway , Mineral Va. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Taylorsville United Methodist Church 4356 Ridge Road Mt Airy, MD 21771.
