BARRE- Dorothy "Dot" Johnson, 68, passed away on Wednesday Nov. 30 2016 in UMASS Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She was born on July 2, 1948 in Boston the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Lucy A. Allard . She is survived by her husband Asa C. Johnson; 2 daughters Darlene M. Johnson & her wife Linda S. Paduchowski of Danville,NH. and Gloria A. Klaesges & husband Darin; grandchildren Chase A. and Tiffany M. Klaesges all of Barre; a stepdaughter Dawn M. Johnson; a grandson Christopher Barker; brother Alfred J. Allard and his wife Pam; nephew Scott Allard of Inverness FL.; niece Colleen MacVeigh and nephew Derek Kelly; father-in-law Vernon “Skip” Johnson & his wife Gloria; sister-in-law Diane Vidito; niece and nephews Tina, Wayne and Jeremiah Vidito; her beloved PCA Ashley J. Gorr and extended family and close friends.   Dot was raised in Randolph and has lived over 40 years in Barre. She attended The Pioneer Valley Academy Class of 1966 and Atlantic Union College in Lancaster,MA.. Dot worked several years for Chas.G. Allen Foundry in Barre MA. and later for the Devereux Foundation in Rutland where she worked as an adolescent counselor until she retired. She belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lancaster,MA.   Dot truly enjoyed being close to nature. Her hobbies included bird watching, gardening, watching NASCAR racing,crocheting,reading,snowmobiling,boating,archery,watching “Days of Our Lives” and spending time with her family.  Dot’s passion in life was raising her two daughters and playing a big role in Chase and Tiffany’s lives. She also loved her late dog 2Stroke,her cat Bella and her beloved Beagle Lucy Lu. Friends and family are invited to attend Memorial Calling hours on Friday, December 9,2016 from 5-7PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S.Barre Rd. Barre. A celebration of life for Dot will be held on Saturday, December 10,2016 from 1-4PM at the American Legion Post 2 South Barre Rd. in Barre.For an online tribute please visit Pillsburyfuneralhome.com
