Jennie Caruso

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Thursday evening October 27, 2016 ,at the Meadow Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waltham at the age of 97. Born September 7, 1919, in the Roxbury section of Boston, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano “Thomas Cafarella and Caterina LoSchiavo Cafarella. Although a resident of Waltham for most of her life, she resided in Belmont for almost 20 years, after her marriage. After attending the Waltham Public Schools, Jennie worked for many years at the Hood Rubber Company and later as a teller at the Coolidge Bank in Watertown until her retirement. Jennie was an active participant at the Waltham Senior Center. Through the years, she enjoyed participating in a variety of activities with her devoted sisters . She was an avid reader, appreciated great food, and was very interested in politics and current events, but most of all, she loved being with her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Ignazio N. Caruso , and sister of the late Lawrence and John Cafarella. Jennie is survived by her devoted and loving children, Joseph Caruso of Charlestown and Sandra J. Caruso of Waltham, her three cherished grandchildren, her four adoring great grandchildren, her dear sisters Mary Cafarella and Nancy Ruggelo both of Waltham, as well as nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Jennie’s life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Wednesday morning November 2, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mount Feake Cementary. Visiting hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
