Mary Burgoyne

Of Waltham died suddenly at home. Mary was born in Boston and a lifelong resident of Waltham. She was the former accounting office manager of Ideal Concrete Block Co. in Waltham. Mary was also very active within the Waltham civic community volunteering for many causes over the years. Whether it was at St. Mary’s, Our Lady’s or at the Marist Missionary Convent for the past 18 years, Mary loved to stay busy with many hobbies. One of them was making Rosary Beads, she made over 80,000 pairs and shipped them all over the world to help share Gods love and hope with others. She had a real passion for nature and the outdoors and loved working in her yard and garden an avid lover of Dogs and owner of rare breeds over the years from breeders as far as Germany and Israel. Beloved daughter of the late Joseph “Leo” Burgoyne Sr. and Jane (Hedrington) Burgoyne, Mary was a devoted daughter who cared for her parents for many years. Dear sister of Jeanne Newcomb of Norwood, Georgine Brouliette of Townsend, & Geraldine Smith of Florida, and the late Joseph L. Burgoyne Jr., James Burgoyne and Pauline Sanford. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Mary's Life from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St, WALTHAM on TUESDAY morning at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady’s Church, Trapelo Rd, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Monday from 3 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary’s memory to the Marist Missionary Sisters, 349 Grove St, Waltham, MA 02453 or the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
