Rose Sabato

Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She was 86. Born in Waltham, she was raised on the family farm in Lincoln to the late Francis and Virginia (Chiacchia) Umbrello. Rose was a 1948 graduate of Concord High School and moved to Waltham after marrying the love of her life, the late Anthony Sabato, whom she spent 47 wonderful years with. Rose so enjoyed time spent with her family and always baking her treats especially making "Auntie Rosies Italian Cookies" She is survived by her loving daughters Loretta Harmon and her husband Chad of Westminster and Linda Sabato of Waltham, her brother Francis Umbrello, Jr. of Waltham, her sister Lorie Umbrello of Lincoln, and her cherished grandson Joseph Harmon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Patrick Umbrello, sister-in-law of the late Florence Umbrello, and aunt of the late Francis Umbrello, III. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons 773 Moody St., Waltham, Thursday from 8 to 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Rose's life at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Rd., Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Parking attendants will be on duty. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Rose's memory to the American Cancer Society by visiting cancer.org/donate.
