Of Lexington passed away, Monday, October 31, 2016, at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 82. Born in Boston to the late Harold J. and Margaret (Raleigh) Henry, she was raised in Plainfield, NJ. She also spent many years in Connecticut, Washington D.C. and the last 30 years in the Boston area. Sara enjoyed going to the ballet, the symphony and the opera; she loved crafts and made the best Halloween costumes. She was an avid reader and loved the beach, especially the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Most of all Sara loved being around her children and grandchildren. She was the beloved mother of the late Ann Raleigh Garfield. She is survived by her devoted children Gus Garfield and his wife Susan (Belden) of Minneapolis, MN, James Garfield and his wife Sher (Byrd) of Bellevue, WA, Amy Norregaard and her husband George of Bedford, MA, and John Garfield and his wife Stacy (Sanders) of Rockville, MD, her brothers Samuel J. Henry and his wife Debra of Lake Forest, IL and Robert Henry and his wife Carol of NJ, and her cherished grandchildren Adam Murphy and his wife Hillary Daniel of Brooklyn, Amanda Garfield of CO, Sam Garfield of San Francisco, Grayson Garfield of WA, Katie Norregaard of Bedford, Megan Norregaard of Los Angeles, and Ian Garfield of MD. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
