Theresa Cannistraro

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday evening November 5th, 2016 in Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham at the age of 94. Born on April 4, 1922 in Concord, New Hampshire; daughter of the late John Santamaria and Catherine (Lopes) Santamaria, Theresea was born and in Concord, NH, before moving to Waltham, Massachusetts 75 years ago. A graduate of Saint John’s High School in Concord, NH, Theresa worked for a period of time at Howard Johnsons Restaurant, Grover Cronin’s Department Store, Raytheon Corporation, Sun Life and retired from Bentley College. In her spare time she loved playing cards, doing ceramics, going to bingo an following all of the Boston sports teams. Theresa was devoted to her faith and had been an active member of the Sacred Heart Parish Community in Waltham. She had been a member of the Sacred Heart Holy Rosary Guild for years. Beloved wife of the late Michaelangelo A. Cannistraro and loving mother of the late Michaelangelo A. Cannistraro Jr. Theresa is survived by her loving & devoted daughter Sarina A. Cannistraro and her husband Raymond T. “Buzzy” Kirk of Waltham, her cherished grandchildren Teri O’Connor and her husband James, Aleeza Cannistraro, and Joseph Cannistraro, and her adoring great grandchildren Anna Carroll and Addie. In addition she is survived by many nieces & nephews. Dear sister of the late Sarina Santamaria, Joseph and Dominic Defina. Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM on Thursday morning Nov. 10th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Theresa’s Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday Nov. 9th from 3 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
