Elbert “Skip” P. Proffit, 59, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Community Health Center of Branch County. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Skip was born October 4, 1957 to David and Virginia (Beeler) Proffit in Middletown, Ohio. He married Jill Ledbetter on November 13, 1982 in Coldwater. Skip was employed as a general laborer for a local wood products company for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, being outdoors, cooking and baking. Skip is survived by his wife of 34 years Jill of Coldwater and his sister, Brenda (James) Lapole of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
