Forrest Snow

Forrest Duane Snow, 76, of Coldwater, formerly of Batavia Township, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be take place at 12 noon, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will be at Batavia Cemetery in Batavia Township at a later date. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until 12:00 noon prior to the memorial service at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Forrest was born April 16, 1940 to Donald and Wanda (Cooper) Snow in Coldwater. Forrest was an excellent athlete in football and track during his time at Coldwater High School. He was inducted into the Coldwater High School Sports Hall of Fame. After graduating from Coldwater High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 28, 1958. He was honorably discharged on August 27, 1962, having attained the rank of Corporal. Forrest married Barbara Malone on April 5, 1969 in Coldwater. He was a Michigan State Trooper for 6 years and then he went to work for the Michigan Secretary of State- Department of Motor Vehicles as a manager for a short time in Sturgis and then as a manager in Hillsdale. Forrest retired in 1993 after 30 years of employment. Forrest loved hunting and being at deer camp, he also enjoyed ice fishing, dancing, reading and going to Leesburg, Florida in the winter. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Barbara; his children, Robin Curtis of Bath, Maine, Stacy Johnston of Wildwood, Florida and Eric Snow of Coldwater; his grandchildren; Connor McCarthy, Zoe Snow, Madison McCarthy, Laramie Johnston and Alexis Snow; his siblings, Gail (Pieter) Doerr of Coldwater and Maryann (Tom) Schaefer of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 sons Levi Clearwater and James Clearwater and his sister Donna Eikenberry. Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Health Center Home Health and Hospice.
