Leona Cole
Leona J. Cole, 91, of Coldwater, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 with her family by her side. Private services will be scheduled at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Leona was born July 18, 1925 in Coldwater to Eugene & Selma (Niepow) Smith. She married Alfred E. Cole on May 18, 1946, he preceded her in death on February 25, 2008. Leona enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, camping, and traveling. She also enjoyed square dancing and crossword puzzles. Leona was a strong Christian woman who especially loved being a homemaker, mother and grandmother to her family. Leona is survived by her children James (Terry) Cole of Naperville, IL, Judi Cole of Bartow, FL, Jerry (Debra) Cole of Montgomery, MI, Janet (Steve) Wilcox of Fremont, IN, and John Cole of Coldwater, her sisters Fern Bail and Elaine (Pete) VanDyke both of Coldwater, 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Margaret Knapp. Memorials may be directed to Great Lakes Hospice.Obituary
