Viola Strauss

Viola H. Strauss, 92 of Coldwater passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Maple Lawn. In following Viola’s wishes, a private graveside service will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home. Viola was born May 20, 1924 to Athel and Rosezetta (Moore) Hunn in Assyria Center, MI. She married Albert Norton and they had 4 children together. Viola later married A.W. Strauss, he preceded her in death. She was a hardworking woman who worked at the Coldwater Regional Center until retirement. Viola was a former member of both the Coldwater Elks & Moose lodges. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards, and in her younger years, fishing. Viola had love of animals. Her true love was being with her family, especially her many grandchildren. Mrs. Strauss is survived by her children Bonnie (Robert) (Norton) Armstrong of Oxford, MI, Joey (Frenda) Norton, Diane (Norton) Spencer, and Richard R. Norton all of Coldwater; 14 grandchildren; 18 great and 5 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband A.W.; her 3 brothers, infant brother, twin infant sisters; her son-in-law William Spencer.
