David Fidelas Bourdage
David Fidelas Bourdage, age 75 of Fountain, passed away on Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Spectrum Health – Ludington Hospital.
He was born on December 3, 1940 in Alpena, son of the late Leo F. and Elsie Elizabeth (Reed) Bourdage. David enlisted in the United States Army on January 8, 1958, serving until his honorable discharge on December 19, 1960.
David married Carol V. Vitucki on June 9, 1962 in Scottville at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. David worked at Harbison Walker for many years until he retired in 2001, due to ill health.
He was a member of the Mason County Fin & Feather Club, where he volunteered for many projects and also helped teach the youth hunter’s safety classes.
David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Bourdage of Fountain; son, David (Regina) Bourdage of Scottville; daughters, Sabrina (Thomas) Donald of Scottville and Yvonne (Raymond) Loera of Fountain; grandchildren, April Berklund, Christine Bourdage, Thomas J. “Tommy Joe” Donald, Jessica (Dan) Sarkar and Raymond David Bourdage; great-grandchildren, Aralyn Donald, Austin David Berklund and Ivy Sarkar; 2 sisters; 3 sisters-in-law and their families; life-long best friends, Claude and Dorothy Stiller of Beaverton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a sister; brothers-in-law, Georgie, Joey and Roger (Betty) Vitucki; and in-law’s George and Vernie Vitucki.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions in memory of David may be directed to a charity of one’s choice or doing some act of kindness for a family member, friend or stranger.
