Joel Goerbig

Joel Julius Goerbig, age 67 of Scottville, passed away on January 8, 2017 at Spectrum Health of Grand Rapids. Joel was born on December 13, 1949; son of Julius and Phyliss (Vryhof) Goerbig. He graduated from Mason County Central Schools and got his Associates Degree in drafting at West Shore Community College. He was a self-employed licensed contractor in the carpentry industry. He enjoyed shooting pool with his league. He also enjoyed watching football and playing on his computer. He enjoyed animals, especially his dog Pete. Joel is survived by his daughter: Staci (Jim) Bensen; granddaughter: Jami Spuller; grandson: Chris Spuller; mother: Phyllis Goerbig; brothers: Wayne (Penny), Ed (Chris) and Mike (Rowena) Goerbig and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, with Pastor Brian Bount officiating. A one hour visitation prior to the service will start at 11:00 A.M. Memorial contributions in memory of Joel may be directed to the family.
