Margaret Ann “Muzzi” Thalman


Margaret Ann “Muzzi” Thalman, age 85 of Ludington passed into eternal rest on Thursday December 1, 2016 at Cartwright Hospice House in Saginaw.

She was born on August 10, 1931 in Traverse City, daughter of the late Thomas D. and Martha I. (Herman) Peplinski. She attended St. Simon Catholic School in Ludington, and graduated with the class of 1949. Margaret married Linus E. Thalman, Sr. on November 12, 1949 in Ludington at St. Simon Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2006.

Muzzi was an active member of St. Simon Catholic Church, member of the Catholic Daughters of America, member of the St. Simon Alter Society, the Ludington American Legion Post #76 Ladies Auxiliary and the Ludington Boat Club.

Muzzi is survived by her 2 daughters, Kathy (Steve) Harrand of Midland and Karen (Jim) Bradley of Ontonagon; 2 sons, Charlie Thalman of Weidman and Linus (Sherry) Thalman, Jr. of Ludington; sister, Joann Tolles of Ludington; grandchildren, Stephenie (Michael) Harrand-McVittie, Scott (Clara) Harrand, Linus (Shallan) Thalman, III and Christopher (Fiancé Holly Brooks) Thalman; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Alina, A.J. and Cody McVittie, Audrey, Manny, Todd and Margaret Harrand, Alexis, Linus IV, Gia, Landon and Chase Thalman and Ava, Reagan and Noelle Brooks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Linus, Sr.; grandson, Todd Michael Harrand; and brother, Thomas W. Peplinski.

Cremation has taken place and the funeral mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday December 6, 2016 at St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington with Father Dan DePew celebrant. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church from 10:00AM until time of service. Final interment will follow at Pere Marquette Catholic Cemetery in Ludington.
