Vera June Fugere Campbell

Vera June (Callesen) Fugere Campbell of Free Soil, Michigan passed away at the age of 90 on December 4, 2016 at the Oak View Medical Care Facility in Ludington, Michigan.

June was born on June 22, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to Clarence Edward and Zellah Avis (Walterhouse) Callesen.

She married Walter J Fugere on May 4, 1946 at the Community Church in Ludington, Michigan. They had four children Walter Clarence (and Linda) Fugere, David Lee (and Pam) Fugere, Patricia Ann (and Larry) Crawford, and Barbara Lynn (and Roger) Almond. She married Clarence Campbell in 1989.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, parents, her brothers Edward, Harold and Clarence and her sister Iris (Callesen) Crofoot. Survivors include her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

June was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed sewing, fishing, and going to yard sales to add to her collection of salt and peppershakers. For many years before her death, June was caregiver to Slim Zwisler.

Services will be held on Friday, December 9th, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church in East Lake where June was a member with Pastor Alvin “Al” Knutson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM until time of services. There will be a small luncheon at the church following the services.

Private burial will follow at the Grant Township Cemetery.
