Marjorie Carpenter Mrs. Marjorie Carpenter, age 74, of Comstock Park formerly of Nashville, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at her home. Marjorie was born in Battle Creek, MI on August 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Ellis and Nellie (Long) Potter. She was raised in the Nashville area and attended local schools graduated from W.K. Kellogg High School On September 22, 1996 she married Mr. Paul Carpenter and the couple made their home together in the Comstock Park area. Marjorie worked as a nurses aide for several years and also at the family business Blakely Sand & Gravel. She took great pride in taking care of her family and loved watching her children grow over the years. In her spare time, Marjorie enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She loved spending time with Rose her great grand daughter, whom she has been baby sitting most recently. Along with her husband the couple enjoyed building very elaborate doll houses. When she was younger, Marjorie enjoyed traveling South and touring the old plantations. Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years Paul, three daughters, Krystal Lowe, Melissa Whitaker, Melinda (Tim) Gorman, Paula (Richard) Humphrey, sons, Raymond Whitaker, Steven (Barb) Carpenter,17 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters Connie & Shirley. Graveside Services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Nashville, MI, at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 with Dennis Sergent officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday beginning at 1:30 PM at The Daniels Funeral Home. memorial contributions can be made to the family of Marjorie Carpenter.
