She met Doug, her husband-to-be, in a boarding house where they both lived at the time., and they were married in in 1944. Because of Doug's work, they moved a number of times before finally settling in Lexington, KY to raise a family. Leaving the workplace , Louise took care of the household, participated in several local organizations and devoted herself to raising their son David who eventually entered college at Michigan State University in 1967. In 1974 Doug and Louise moved to Michigan to be near their son and grandchildren. Louise excelled at and enjoyed many hobbies such as needlepoint, reading, crosswords, interior. deco ratings, cooking, baking, flower arranging and working an amazingly large successful fruit and vegetable garden with her husband, Doug. Many summers were spent shelling peas, shucking corn, making jams and canning. Later in life, Louise volunteered in many places such as the local humane society, library, Methodist Church and the Salivation Army. She had a kind-hearted and generous nature, always being able to see the silver lining around every cloud and was well-liked by her neighbors. The world is a better place for having known her.
