Judge Robert Wilkerson

Judge Robert Gerald Wilkerson, passed away on Friday, January 06, 2017 at his home in Lake, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 08, 2017 from 4:30PM until 8:00PM and again on Monday January 09, 2017 from 10:00AM until 11:50AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 09, 2017 at 12:00PM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake, MS. Rev. Gene Banes will officiate. Burial will follow at the High Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Forest, MS. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS is in charge of the arrangements. Judge Wilkerson born, October 28, 1934, was a lifelong resident of the High Hill Community in Scott County where he was a member of the High Hill Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Forest High School where he played football. Robert Gerald attended East Central Community College in Decatur, MS. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Smith Arkansas during the Korean Conflict. Robert worked in the poultry industry at McCarty State Pride and Tyson Foods until his retirement as Night Maintenance Supervisor. He also served as Justice Court Judge in Scott County for 36 years and for most of his tenure, he was unopposed. He was known as the working man’s judge. He was a cattle farmer in his free time. Robert loved his time spent on his 4 wheeler riding on his land and looking after his cows. Robert Gerald loved the land that his father, E.C. Wilkerson and his family farmed for generations and adored his mother Mary Lou. In fact some of his happiest times were spent when she moved next to them in her last years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patsy Ruth Johnson Wilkerson; his son, Bob Wilkerson; and his daughter, Ruth Ann Wilkerson. He was the son of Edward Clinton Wilkerson, known fondly as Epp Wilkerson, and Mary Lou Weems Wilkerson. Robert was the youngest child of four children to this marriage and was preceded in death by William Edward Wilkerson (Billie), Frances Dale Wilkerson Gay, and Laura Lois Wilkerson Gilbert. Robert found happiness in his later years with Yvonne Phillips Wilkerson, his second wife, and her children and grandchildren. Robert Gerald is also survived by a host of nephews and nieces who loved him and will miss him dearly. Pallbearers will be his great nephews Richard Wilkerson, Clint Wilkerson, Will Chambers, Joseph Cieglo, Brent Gay, and Jonathan Ellerbusch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Gay, Rickey Wilkerson, Hiram Wilkerson, Tommy Cieglo, Bill Lovett, Jason Strickland, Nick Gilbert, Tanner Armstrong, Austin Armstrong, Glenn Murray, Rickey Murray, and Jeff Murray.
