Andrew “Andy” Novak, 90, of Sugar Creek, MO passed away November 22, 2016 at his home. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 10113 E. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64053. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Eucharist, 2100 N. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64050. Andy was born June 19, 1926 in Sugar Creek, MO to Mike and Mary Novak. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita (Puhr) Novak; sister, Mary Tochek; and brother, John Novak. He is survived by two daughters, Rita Riechers of the home, Linda Jonas (Mike); five grandchildren, Jimmy Riechers (Audra), Justin Riechers, Angela Fencl (Curt), Rebecca Saxton, Luke Jonas (Tasha); great grandchildren, Nick Brown, Ian Fencl, Adam Fencl, Dalton Riechers, Abby Riechers, Demi Riechers, Sophia Saxton and Bo Luke Jonas; sister, Anna Mae Dudic of Brooklyn, OH; brother, Raymond Novak (Anna Marie) of Hamilton, MO; and sister-in-law’s, Anna Myers and Audrey Puhr, both of Independence, MO.
