Anna Belle Leuty-Potter, 88 years old from Independence, Missouri passed peacefully early in the morning on January 12th. Born Anna Belle Bartels on April 15, 1928, she married Beryl Leuty, the love of her life, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage until Beryl passed in July of 1998. In 2003, she married the man she would love for the rest of her life, Sidney Potter. Over the years as Anna Belle's health declined, Sidney was always at her bedside. Anna Belle was a life-long member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served as president for several terms. An avid advocate of fitness, she started one of the first senior aerobic classes at the YMCA of Independence with her motto, “Use it or lose it.” Anna Belle was a devoted Catholic of St. Mark’s parish. Anna Belle is survived by her four children. Gary (Sherry), George, Cindy (Jack), Clay (Snook). Grandchildren Lisa (Mike), Sara, Cora (Kenny), Anna, Zach, John (Tara) and Jennifer. Great-grandchildren Kaitlyn (Jacob), Jake, Sophia, Henry and Trevor. A visitation will be held on Monday, Jan 16th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence MO, 64052. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan 17th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055 with burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
