Francis Kelley

Francis Kelley, 80, of Independence, MO passed away November 10, 2016. At his request services will be private and cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in Diamond Head Memorial Park, Honolulu, HI. Francis was born on July 8, 1936 in Topeka, KS to Frank and Calla (Parker) Kelley. He was a proud veteran in the United States Marine Corp, and served during the Korean Conflict. Francis attended San Francisco State and ultimately earned his PHD. In 1958 he married the love of his life, Shirley Chang. Francis was a Minister with the World Church of Community of Christ. Along with his wife they traveled throughout the United States, for the church. Francis enjoyed reading, writing, and poetry. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Survivors include; wife Shirley Kelley; sister, Mary Kelley; several nieces and nephews; a large church community, and many friends. Francis is preceded in death by his parents, son Patrick Kelley, and brothers Wendell Kelley and Ormond Kelley. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Outreach International or Groves Hospice in his memory.
