Juan Manuel Torres, 65, Independence, MO died Jan. 23, 2017. Services will be 2 pm, Friday; Visitation 6-8 pm, Thursday, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; cremation. Juan was born Jan. 31, 1951 in Guadalajara, Mexico. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University Guadalajara. He worked at Mission Foods for almost thirty-two years. He enjoyed cooking, building things, golfing, traveling to Mexico and reading all types of books. He was a real jokester. Juan is survived by his wife of forty-four years Martha Torres, of the home; daughters Adriana Torres Uribe and husband Rafael, Sandy, UT; Martha Torres and husband Kevin Wentworth; son Emanuel Torres and wife Tabitha, all of Independence, MO; grandchildren Alex, Guillermo, Kevin, Tatiana, Eriana, Frida, Ruby; sisters Martha Torres; Beatriz Tejada, both of Guadalajara, MX; Susanna Torres; Nena Torres, brothers Armando Tejada; Aniceto Tejada, all of Los Angeles, CA; and Gonzalo Tejada, Guadalajara, MX.
