Norma Haney

Norma Jean (Keeler) Haney, 84, of Independence, MO passed away March 19, 2017 at her home. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Norma was born November 25, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to John L. and Selma E. (Johnson) Keeler. She graduated from Northeast High School. She began her career working for the FBI; and as she raised her son, she helped her husband James in the family business, Crescent Fence. Norma then went to work for Home Interiors and Gifts for 10 years, prior to her retirement. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, sharing her recipes, and square dancing with her husband. Norma will be remembered as someone who made others feel special, and who absolutely loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with a passion. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 62 years, James Haney. Norma is survived by her son, Steve Haney; two grandchildren, Luke Haney and Lindsey Lang; 4 great grandchildren, Chase Haney, Wyatt Lang, Harrison Lang and Carter Haney.
