Robert Stephens

Robert Stephens died March 16, 2017, at White Oak Living Center where he has resided for the last 4 1/2 years. On Halloween in 1917 Odell and Hattie (Emison) Stephens welcomed Robert Burette into their home in Fruitvale, Tennessee. He married Mary Pauline Logan on October 31, 1938. He lived and farmed in Tennessee for about 20 years then moved to Arkansas. The rest of his life he lived and worked in and around Forrest City, Arkansas. He worked for Armor & Company for 15 years and then Yale & Town for 25 years till retirement in 1982. He was preceded in death by his wife (married 69 years), his parents, and his siblings. He is survived by his sons: Charles (wife – Nona) of Gainesville, GA and Duane (wife-Kay) of Independence, MO and four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services and the interment were held in Forrest City, Arkansas on March 20, 2017. A memorial service will be held at White Oak Living Center in the community room at 7:00 P.M. on March 24th. Memorials in lieu of flowers maybe given to the Memorial Fund, First Methodist Church, 101 South Izard, Forrest City, Arkansas 72335. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com.
