Anthony "Tony" McGuire of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Monday, September 13, 1943 in Potosi, Missouri. A son of the late, Naomi Florence (Boyd) McGuire and the late, John McGuire. Tony departed this life on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-three years, two months and nine days. He is survived by his wife, Jean McGuire; stepson, Lester Shores of Herculaneum, Missouri; four sisters, Rhonda Walton of Potosi, Missouri; Pauline Douthit of Mineral Point, Missouri; Glenda McGuire of St. Louis, Missouri; Helen and husband, Raymond Blanks of Potosi, Missouri; two brothers, James McGuire of Mineral Point, Missouri; Harvey McGuire of Potosi, Missouri; many grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Naomi Florence McGuire and John McGuire, stepson, Timothy Shores, two sisters, Ophelia Penny, Mary McGuire and one brother, John Othel McGuire. Tony loved watching sports and playing the lottery. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends who will all deeply miss him. Visitation was held on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, Potosi. Funeral Service was held at 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Martinous Walls officiating. Final prayers and burial took place in the Trinity Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: James Douthit, Christopher Kelly, Lyndell Walton, Andre Douthit, Richard Powell, Andrew Shore, Raymond Blanks Jr., Dennis Shores, Lindell Shores and Joshua Blanks. Services were entrusted under the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, MO 63664.
