Janice Sue Hays of Potosi, Missouri was born on Saturday, June 5, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. A daughter of the late, Wilma (Hart) Marler and the late, Frank Marler. Janice departed this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her residence in Mineral Point, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-three years, five months and twenty-five days. She was united in marriage to James P. Hays Jr. on Friday, January 9, 1970 at the Potosi United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Allan and wife, Amy Hays; David and wife, Carrie Hays; one daughter, Lisa and husband, Bub Cantrell; two brothers, Vern and wife, Brenda Marler; Joe Marler; seven grandchildren: Matthew Cantrell, Ashley Cantrell, Dylan Hays, Kaitlyn Hays, Peyton Hays, Emily Hays and Lily Hays; one great-granddaughter, Mattison Cantrell; dear extended family, Paul and Tina Hammers and family, Cody, Donnie, Ashley and Ryleigh; also surviving are other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Hays, Jr., three sisters, Jennie Kelly, Annette Bequette, Judy Marler and one brother, Bobbie Marler. Janice worked at Brown Shoe for twenty-six years and Redwing for twenty-two and a half years. She was very dedicated to and loved all of her work friends. She loved spoiling her grandkids and playing bingo. Janice was a Past Member of the Bonne Terre Eagles. Janice was a very kindhearted generous woman who will be very deeply missed by all. Visitation was held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Gary Petty officiating. Final prayers and burial were in the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Paul Hammers, Cody Hammers, Scott Marler, Jerad Marler, Brian Jolly and Marcus Bequette. Services were entrusted under the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, MO 63664.
