Betty Joyce (Fears) Buchanan, went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2017 at 8:03 p.m. after battling a chronic illness, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 9, 1938 in Dunklin County Missouri near Arbyrd. She attended Leachville High School and graduated in 1956. She started her career in banking as a teller. She was promoted to manager then Vice President. Betty worked for Boatmen’s Bank and then Bank of America until her retirement in 2000.<br>Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Raymond Guy Fears and Lily Pearl Jessee. She is survived by her children: Gary Buchanan, Linda (Jeffry) Weaver, Patsy (Casey) Eddings and Brenda Obert. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jessica and Hunter Weaver, Brad and Ryan Eddings, Chris and Nathan Obert and many friends and extended family members.<br>She was a member of Second Baptist Church and a strong Christian woman who loved the Lord and was looking forward to her heavenly home with Jesus. A private family service is planned.
