Jesse E Hedden, 76, of Springfield, MO., passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 in Mercy Hospital. Jesse was born on August 17, 1940 in Thayer, MO. He graduated high school in 1959. Jesse was a machinist at Frisco railroad for 25 years. He also was the owner of Hedden’s Automotive for 39 years. Jess married Sharon Kay (Smith) Hedden on February 12, 1960 in Springfield, MO. He was a member of Sunset Church of Christ. Jess was one the first recipients of the Southwest Missouri Drag Racers Reunion Pioneer award. He loved gardening and yard work. Jess was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Exie Hedden, brothers Ronald, Johnny and Roy Wayne Hedden. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, sons, Rick (Sherry), Robbie and Paul Hedden. Grandchildren Crystal (Michael) Seigart, Heather (Noah) Rockhill, Jesse (Lindsey) Hedden, Stephen (Ashley) Hedden, Rachel Hedden and Eric Hedden. Great-grandchildren Hailey Rockhill, Alex, Shelby, and Kyrie Seigart, Ayden, Brody, Cheyenne and Faith Hedden, brothers, Marvin (Sharon) Hedden, Kenny (Connie) Hedden, Richard (Joyce) Hedden, Gordon (Rhonda), Stanley Hedden and several nieces and nephews and many friends. A memorial service for Jess will be at Sunset Church of Christ on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fair Haven Children’s Home. 3132 N Fair Haven Loop, Stafford, MO. 65757.
