Kathleen Joan “Jo” (Powers) Hillman, 89, died March 21, 2017 after a short illness. She was born October 24, 1927 in Salina, Kansas. Jo married Vern Hillman in Omaha, Ne in August of 1948. Jo was a wife, mother, involved with her church, Immaculate Conception. She was a real estate agent, worked for Pat’s Hallmark, J.C. Penney and enjoyed a full social life in all the communities she lived in. She along with her husband Vern, moved away from the Springfield area in 1981 and traveled and lived all over the United States until they settled back down in Green Valley, Arizona in 2001. Due to health reasons they then moved up to Kansas City in 2005. Vern preceded Jo in death in 2006. 2012 Jo moved back to Springfield and lived here until she died. Surviving are her daughters, Sue Monaghan and husband, Greg of Anacortes, Wa; Ann Marie Rausch and husband, George of Monett, Mo.; one sister, Mary Quinley of Wichita, Ks and one brother Charles Power of Green Valley, Az., five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and various nieces and nephews. Interment will be later in Green Valley, Az., where Jo will be laid to rest next to Vern. Memorials may be made to Seasons Hospice, 1831 W. Mehlville Rd., Springfield, Mo 65803
