Caroline Neu
Caroline K. Neu, 95, of Scottsbluff, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at The Western Nebraska Veterans’ Home. Her funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Andy Griess officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to the Zion Evangelical Church or to The Western Nebraska Veterans’ Home. Friends who wish may call at the church one hour prior to service time. Jolliffe Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com Caroline was born November 16, 1921, in Bayard, Nebraska, the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Spangler) Yekel. She grew up and received her education in the Bayard area, and on January 24, 1937, she married Victor Neu in Scottsbluff. She lived in Scottsbluff and also California for a time while her husband served during World War Two. The couple returned to Scottsbluff where Caroline raised her family and also worked for many years at Woolworth’s. She most enjoyed her family and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was also an avid card and bingo player. Survivors include sons Monte and wife Jacque Neu of Scottsbluff and Gary and wife Susan Neu of Gering, grandchildren Todd (Heather) Neu of Minatare, Kerry (John) Meyer of Gering, Kory Neu of Littleton, CO, Tonya Neu of Lakewood, CO, Chris Lordino of Portland, OR, Tim (Jackie) Lordino of Chadron, NE, and Mike (Yolanda) Lordino of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by great grandchildren Aaron Nab, Mason (fiancée RaVae Herrera) Nab, Sean (Stephanie) Neu, Ashley Neu, MarLee and MaCee Neu, Jon (Jaime) Lordino, Matt Lordino and Dylan and Brooke Lordino, and great great granddaughter Gracelynn Nab and great great grandson Pierce Nab. Caroline’s parents, her husband Victor, infant son Donald Eugene, grandson Kyle Neu, brothers Carl, Alec, Dave, Robert. Herbert and Raymond Yekel, and sisters Emma Green and Alvina Neu preceded her in death.Obituary
