Charles E. Jones, Jr., passed away peacefully on December 22, 2016. He was born in Providence, RI. The son of Charles E. Jones, Sr and Blanche Anna Boutote Jones. Charles was a world traveler who never seemed to meet a stranger, and often had a quick witted joke or memorable life story to share with family, friends, and later the staff at his assisted living facility. His adventures began a WWII Army Veteran serving as a Tech Sargent where he served in New Guinea. He was proud to be a Mason and shared that pride with those he surrounded himself with. He began his career as an apprentice machinist at Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing, Inc. in Providence, RI, and eventually became a plant manager for Lear Siegler, Parker Aircraft, and Universal Windings. While his work took him from Rhode Island to California to Australia, Charles was always proud of his Rhode Island and New England roots. His humor and zest for life will certainly be missed. He is survived by his niece Charlene Farnsworth and her husband Wayne Farnsworth of Rumney, NH, and numerous nieces and nephews.Charles was predeceased by his wife Eileen Roberts Jones; his father Charles E. Jones, Sr. and mother Blanche Anna Boutote Jones; his sisters Bernadette Castagna and her husband Howard Castagna, Beatrice Parrillo and her husband Anthony Parrillo, and Ruby Marie Buchanan and her husband William C. Buchanan, Jr. The family would like to thank the staff at Meredith Bay Colony Club, Meredith, NH and the doctors and nursing staff at Laconia Regional General Hospital. He will be laid to rest in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, RI in the New Year. The Mayhew Funeral Home, 204 Daniel Webster Highway Meredith, New Hampshire 03253 is assisting the family with arrangements.
