John Stephen Kubik Sr., 53, of Thornton NH, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer for more than seven years. John was born in Webster, MA, on May 25, 1963. He was the son of the late Joseph Paul Sr. and Rose Marie (Bielik) Kubik. John was a longtime employee to Maranatha Construction for more than 30 years where he was foreman of the carpentry crew. He enjoyed quality time with his wife, working on projects with his son, his love of music with his daughter, and most of all spending time with his 2 beautiful granddaughters. Beloved husband of Tammy (Szczepaniak) Kubik for 30 years; loving father of John Kubik Jr. and his wife Ashley of Thornton and Theresa Cawley and her husband Coleman, also of Thornton. Devoted grandfather of Camryn and Raegan Cawley. Dear brother of Mary Ann Bond and her husband Alan; Paul Kubik and his fiancé Linda; Ann Marie Scott; and the late Joseph P. Kubik Jr. Also survived by his 4 godchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Services: Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Mayhew Funeral home, 12 Langdon Street, Plymouth on Friday, March 10th from 11:00 AM to 1:00PM, before leaving in procession to Pine Grove Cemetary, NH Route 175, Thornton, where a graveside service will be celebrated at 1:45 PM, Deacon Michael Guy of Holy Trinity Parish will be the celebrant. Celebration of life to follow at Benton’s Sugar Shack in Thornton, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may go to Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover NH.
