Obituary
Richard Albert Coutu, 79, of Plymouth, died January 17, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Sanford, Maine on September 29, 1937, he was the son of Wilfred and Roseanna (Becotte) Coutu. Richard moved to Ashland during his teen years and graduated from Ashland High School, class of 1957. He resided in Winchester, NH. before moving to Plymouth in 1970. Richard was a US Air Force veteran and served from 1961 to 1967, retiring due to a disability. Richard worked for a couple of years at the Manchester Post Office and at the former Draper Maynard Corporation, in Beebe River. Richard owned and operated the former Henny Penny Restaurant, on South Main St. in Plymouth, and most recently was working a Rand’s Hardware, in Plymouth. Richard was a member of the Durand Haley American Legion Post #66, in Plymouth, and a member and past President of the Baker-Pemi Seniors Club. He was a volunteer for over 15 years at the Plymouth Senior Center. Richard was an avid Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots fan and always enjoyed watching his children play High School sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was their Mr. Fix-it. Richard is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Sally (Bruce) Coutu of Plymouth, his children, Robert Coutu and his wife Catherine of Grafton, NH, Richard Coutu of Plymouth, Teresa Coutu Boyle and her husband James of Mason NH., his brother, Raymond Coutu and his wife Fran of Plymouth, his sister, Beatrice Sicard of Westfield, MA, also several nieces and nephews.
