Meredith, NH. Ruth A. Baker (1925-2017). Ruth Baker (91) passed away quietly on January 4, 2017. She was born and raised in Framingham, NH. She was the daughter of Hazel (Richardson) and James Campbell; and sister of Phyllis (Campbell) Hauptmann. She spent her young adulthood as a secretary in the Boston area after attending Burdette Business College. She married the love of her life, Ken Baker, in 1950. They were stationed in several places in the US while Ken was in the military, after which they moved to Ashland, MA. They built their dream home in Meredith, NH, moving there in 1979. She was passionate about life, travel, cooking, and family. She was involved in Meredith’s Community Garden Club and was a very active in the First Congregational Church of Meredith, NH UCC. She is survived by two children, James Baker (Meredith, NH) and Leslie Baker (Meredith, NH), her daughter-in-law Cheryl Baker (Meredith, NH), and two grandchildren, Grant Baker (Lincoln, NH), and Laura Baker (Somerville, MA). A memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Boston, or the First Congregational Church of Meredith (4 Highland Street, Box 533, Meredith, NH 03253).
