William Cole

William Edward Cole, 84, of Holderness, NH. died suddenly on December 4, 2016, at his home. William was born in Bristol, NH. on December 5, 1931. He grew up in Bristol, NH. and graduated from Bristol High School, class of 1949. He attended Plymouth State College, in Plymouth, NH. and graduated from Suffolk University, in Boston, MA. with a BS in Business Administration. He was a resident of Bellingham, Massachusetts for many years. William summered in the Squam Lakes area for many years and retired permanently to Holderness twelve years ago. William worked for many years as a Human Resource Manager for the Honeywell Corporation, in Massachusetts and then for fifteen years as a Purchasing Agent for Johnson & Wales University, in Rhode Island. William was a very active communicant of St. James Episcopal Church in Woonsocket, RI. and had served on the Parish Council and as a Senior Warden. William also had served the town of Bellingham as a member of the Personal Board. William is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Beverly Ann (Geldart) Cole of Holderness, NH., daughter, Alison C. King and her husband Peter K. King of Andover, MA., son, Col. Russell E. Cole, US Army and his wife Col. April Cole, US Army of Norfolk, VA., grandchildren, Alexander King, Andrew King and Russell William Cole, several siblings, Kenneth, Richard, Florence, Joyce and Charles, brother-in-laws, Peter Geldart of Holderness, Scott Keefer of Cumberland, RI., many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held in the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 18 Highland St., Ashland, NH., on Thursday, Dec. 8th, at 10:30am. The Rev. Canon Randolph Dales, Vicar of St. Mark's Church, Ashland, and Priest-in-Charge of Church of the Holy Spirit, Plymouth, will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Churchyard Cemetery, Holderness, NH. Please make memorial donations in his memory to the Holderness Firefighter’s Association, PO Box 405, Holderness, NH. 03245.
