Harold J. "Sparky" Geddis, Jr.

Harold J. “Sparky” Geddis, Jr., age 85, of Edgewater, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2016 surround by his loving family at Halifax Health Hospice, Southeast Volusia Care Center, Edgewater, FL. Born in Summit, he had lived in West Long Branch before moving to Florida in 2001. He was a member of the Eatontown Lion’s Club, American Legion, VFW, and Chaine Des Rotisseurs of NJ. He enjoyed gardening and was known for growing the largest tomatoes. Sparky was an avid golfer and belonged to the Old Orchard Country Club, Eatontown. He traveled all over Europe with Frances collecting wines to bring back to the states to serve at the Country Club for dinner. He loved dancing, and truly living life to the fullest. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Frances; daughter, Jeannette of West Long Branch and three grandchildren, Brandon, Kelsey, and John Paul Frontera, all of West Long Branch. He is predeceased by his sister, Jean Venezia; son, Charles J. Geddis; and daughter, Lynn Geddis. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 7 from 6 pm until the time of the service at 7:30 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch.
