Janet N. Smilios, age 78, of Naples, Florida formerly of Ocean, died on November 29, 2016 at home. Born in Long Branch, she had lived in Ocean before moving to Florida in 2005. Janet was a retired secretary at Ft. Monmouth. She was predeceased by her husband, Kostas “Gus” Smilios, her grandson, Christopher Stackhouse and her parents, Noble and Bessie Rescigno. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Caroline Stackhouse; Gary and Marion Uyeyama; Elias and Krista Smilios; a daughter and son-in-law, Mia and Rick Irlando; her brother, Noble Rescigno; her sister, Rosemarie DiGirolamo; 7 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral Thursday, 10 am here at the funeral home with the service to begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport.
