Lorraine E. Wean, 84 of Long Branch, died peacefully after a long illness on November 17, 2016 at Monmouth Care Center with her family by her side. Born in Jersey City, she lived in the shore area for over 35 years. A graduate of Henry Snyder High School in Jersey City, she was employed at Fort Monmouth and retired upon its closing. She was an avid New York Giants fan, loved Frank Sinatra’s music and greatly enjoyed her trips to Maui, Hawaii. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, John and Mae Myer; her two daughters, Pamela LeValley and Cheryl Wean and her brother, John Meyer, Jr. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan Wean of Englewood, Florida; four grandchildren, Eric LeValley, Brian LeValley, Jordan Wean and Ashley Wean; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Peter Rutan and her great-grandson, Liam LeValley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation was private and there will be no service per the request of Lorraine.
