Mary Bortolotti

Mary Bortolotti, age 95 of West Long Branch, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at home. Known to all as Aunt Mary, she was born in Naro, Sicily, Italy, and had lived in West Long Branch since 1955. Mrs. Bortolotti was a seamstress for many local manufacturers and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. She was also parishioner of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church in West Long Branch and its Rosary Altar Society. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Agostino “Albert” Bortolotti in 1997; and her 7 siblings: 2 brothers and 2 sisters who were in Italy and 3 sisters who lived here, Concetta DeSeno, Grazia Alaimo and Lena Trufolo. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26 from 4-7 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral Tuesday; 9:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Jerome Church in West Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
