Dorothy Breen Obituary

Ms. Dotty Breen of Tampa, Florida passed away during the evening of Thursday September 15, 2016, while her son Patrick (Paddy) & niece Dawn stood by her side and held her hand as God took her home and gave her wings to fly as she entered into his Heavenly Kingdom to join her Heavenly Family.

Dotty was born & raised in Brooklyn, NY and then resided in Staten Island while raising her son, Paddy. She worked for years in NYC in the food services industry and then moved to Tampa Florida to be with her sister Mary when she semi-retired. She then worked for several years in the school system of Tampa as a lunch lady until finally retiring for good. She would always try to spend her summer & Christmas Holidays in NJ & NY visiting her son, grandsons & daughter in law & ALL of her family & friends! She also visited TN when she could to see her grandsons and great-grandchildren, we are blessed that she was able to have a wonderful visit this year in TN & meet her newest arrivals. She hurt & felt lonely many times because of the distance of her NJ & TN family, so we are thankful of memories and photos but all wish there could have been many many more “times together”.

Dotty leaves behind her one & only favorite #1 son, Paddy (as she always wrote & told him), daughter in law Justine, six grandsons, 4 great grandchildren, her niece Dawn who was just like a daughter to her and always there for her, her dear sister in law Joanie and many wonderful nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews & her friends whom she cherished very much….. Dotty loved to joke around and her favorite four letter word was - - - - (SODA!) but make sure it’s PEPSI not COKE! Dotty is most famous for singing Happy Birthday to everyone she knew, but when it came down to her birthday and the question, How Old Are You Now? Well, the answer always was Forever 21! She had an unconditional love for animals too and her cats meant the world to her. Dotty loved watching Hallmark Movies especially around the holidays and eating “well” done burgers and steak! She was set in her ways and sometimes a PITA but certainly LOVED by everyone & will TRULY be missed… She was a SPECIAL mom, nanny, aunt, sister & loved talking on the phone any morning, noon or night-we called it telephoneitis…. Wishing Heaven had cell service… L Love & miss you always…….

Dotty will be reposing on Saturday September 24, 2016 from 2- 4pm and 7-9 pm at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Rt 35 Middletown, New Jersey 07748. Prayer service will take place at Funeral Home Sunday mornnd at 11am. Private Cremation will take place Monday morning
