Casimir Bardowski Obituary

Bardowski, Casimir (Charles), passed away peacefully on November 16 at the age of 81, surrounded by his family. He was born in Manayunk, PA to Charles and Victoria Bardowski. He was blessed to be married for 58 years to his high school sweetheart, Eileen. “Charlie” graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in Manayunk and Villanova University. He was a good, hard-working man who always provided for his family. As a young husband and father, he owned a delicatessen and eventually worked for Abbotts Dairies, then Jack & Jill Ice Cream Co. Famous for his potato salad, he also catered weddings and parties on the weekends. Charlie’s life was brightened by the presence of his 6 children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and two cherished ones on the way, to be loved from above. He proudly shared his Polish family heritage and traditions with all of them. He loved to entertain them and cook for them. Everyone’s favorite day of the year was Christmas Eve. We gathered for the Polish Christmas supper, Wigilia, where Dad shared Oplatek with his family, thanking God for all of the blessings that he held close to his heart. Charlie enjoyed a good conversation on his back porch with family and close friends, but most especially on the phone with his sweet sisters, Barbara and Theresa. They were loving and supportive sisters to their big brother and he cherished them. He had a strong faith in God, a gift that helped him persevere during these last few years. Charlie loved reading reflection books, Stations of the Cross, and was a faithful member of St. Bernadette Church for thirty years, and more recently, St. Katharine Drexel Church in EHT. Predeceased by his beautiful and loving wife, Eileen, Charlie will forever be loved by his son, William Bardowski (Lynn); daughters, Maureen Sullivan (Paul), Lisa Weiss (Brian), Denise Terry (Don), Donna Kissam (Chip), and Anne van de Rijn (Robert). He will be joyfully remembered by grandchildren Lauren (Garrett), Alyssa (Ryan), Christopher (Meris), PJ, Amy (Colin), Katie (Todd), Kristie, Jessica (Chris), Jackie (Ryan), Julia, Chelsea, Chad, Joel and Jeremy. Our littlest angels Natalie, Kelly, Casey, Marley, Gianna, Vivian, Tyler, Sienna, and Jack were loved dearly by “Pop-Pop B.” We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of Charles at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Katharine Drexel Church in EHT at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 19. Visitation begins at 9:30 am. Interment follows Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing. Arrangements entrusted to and condolences may be left for his family at: adams-perfect.com
