David L. Chester

Chester, David, L – 68, of Northfield passed away suddenly on January 9th. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Doris Chester. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ellie and his brother Bob Chester Jr. He also leaves behind his 2 loving daughters and their husbands, Kate and Dave Hutchinson of Ct. and Holly and Matthew Tyree of Mays Landing. He will missed by his 4 grandchildren, Geoffrey and Niall Hutchinson and Nathan and Emily Tyree. Dave lived his whole life in Northfield. He graduated from Mainland High School and from the Culinary Institute of America. He spent most of his 30 years as a chef working in various casinos and country clubs. Dave had a passion for 2 things in his life – cooking and cars. He loved anything to do with cars, especially his 56 Chevy. After retiring he found a new passion – restoring and selling wicker furniture. He became known as “Wicker Dave”. He will be truly missed by all knew him. He was the BEST husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend anyone could ask for. All arrangements have been made with Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Rd., Northfield, NJ. A viewing will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Adams-Perfect. A Funeral service will be Friday, January 13, 2017 from 10-11 AM at Central United Methodist, Central Ave and Shore Rd, Linwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 5 Marvin Ave., Linwood, NJ 08221.
