<p>Alfredo P. Donato</p><p>Little Egg Harbor</p><p><br></p><p>Alfredo Donato of Little Egg Harbor passed away on December 31, 2015. He was 93. He was born in Jersey City and was raised then married in New Brunswick where he was a proud member of that community. </p><p><br></p><p>He was an active member of St. Sebastian’s Catholic War Veterans following his service in the United states Marine Corps from 1942-1945. Extremely proud of his service in the Second World War, the Marines provided Alfredo with a motto with which he lived his life: Semper Fi.</p><p><br></p><p>Surpassing all other interests and activities was his devotion to his immediate and extended family. Raising his family in Edison, NJ, Alfredo worked for the Edison Post Office and was a retired letter carried having delivered mail to families in the Edison area for 25 years. </p><p><br></p><p>Alfredo was pre deceased by his siblings, Thomas, Anthony and James Donato and Rose Mento. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Antoinette Coglianese Donato, his children Saverio J. Donato of Brick NJ, Linda Donato-Kennedy of Boston MA, and Felicina (Feli) Donato –Natsis of Middletown NJ 5 grandchildren; AnnMarie Coen of Ship Bottom, Susan Vilardi of West Creek NJ, Saverio Alfredo Donato of Hammond NY, David Wittmer of Edison NJ, and Jennifer Wittmer of Highland Park NJ. The joy of his later years were his 3 great grandchildren Daniel 9 and Santino Vilardi 7 of West Creek NJ and Archie Coen 3 of Ship Bottom NJ. The youngest of six siblings Alfredo is survived by his sister Anna DeBonis, 98 of Milltown NJ and known as Uncle Fred to his 14 nieces and nephews and 21 grandnieces and grandnephews. </p><p><br></p><p>The family will welcome friends and relatives from 3-7 PM on Sunday at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset . Services will begin on Monday at 9:45 at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 AM funeral mass at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Interment will take place privately at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery in Wrightstown at a date in the near future where he will join his beloved brother Anthony, also a veteran. Contributions in Mr. Donato’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org. </p><p><br></p>
