Memorial services and a time for remembering the life of Kenneth "Mac" Scott, 68, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Nov. 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Portales. Kenneth Mac Scott was born Dec. 16, 1947 in Kermit, TX to the home of Tommie Thelma (Davis) and Kenneth O. Scott and died at his home on Oct. 25, 2016. Kenneth grew up on a ranch near Fort Sumner, NM and graduated from Fort Sumner High School in 1965. While he was in high school, he was active in the band. He attended New Mexico State University for three years. Through the years Mac was employed in various jobs. For a time he worked in the mines, and later as a truck driver. In more recent years he had worked as an oil field welder, and also for PBI Parlor Systems. He enjoyed doing leather work. In 1998, he met Terri Tiffin at a dance, and two years later they were married on Sept. 8, 2000. He was a member of the Central Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Terri of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Vanessa Scott of London, England; a daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Brian Wiseman of Grand Junction, CO; two grandchildren, Andrew Scott and Aiden Wiseman and 14 step-grandchildren and one more expected soon; there are also three step daughters, Candice Gibbs and husband, David of Clovis, Jessica Roberts and fiance, Jason Wheeler and Tricia Stafford of Portales. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
