Robert Simiele, 82, of Glen Rock, NJ, passed away Saturday January 14, 2017 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Michael and Carmella Palledino Simiele. Bob received his education and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He also graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ, and Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. Robert received his Masters Degree in education and was a teacher in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Bob was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bob is survived by his wife, Joan Crawford Simiele of Glen Rock, NJ, and a son Mark Simiele (Dana Hill), one granddaughter, Harper Simiele. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Michael Masterpolo (Bernie), Doreen Costner (Wayne), Michael Whitty (Nancy) and Christine Riccio (Anthony). Bob was also predeceased by his three sisters, Mary Masterpolo, Olga Whitty and Gilda Simiele. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorial gifts in Bob’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
