Lucile M. Powers, of Route 98, North Java, died Saturday October 8, 2016 at her home at the age of 85. She was born June 24, 1931 in North Java a daughter of the late Alfred Sr. and Elizabeth (nee Perl) Reisdorf. She was a member of the former St. Nicholas Church in North Java. She was a foster mother to 240 kids and was known for her Easter candy and afghans. She was a longtime member of the North Java Rescue Squad. Her husband Robert Powers whom she married June 13, 1953 in North Java died in 1988. She is survived by her children - Mark (Donna) Powers of Java Center, Ken (Eve) Powers of Yorkshire, Patty (Dan) Pingrey of Strykersville; son-in-law - Richard Hunt of Freedom; brother - Alfred Jr. (Mary Ann) Reisdorf of Johnsonburg, sisters - Gert (Ronald) Plowe of Varysburg, Peg (David) Bird of Holland; sister-in-law - Nancy Reisdorf of North Java; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Mary Hunt; sister and brother-in-law - Rosie & Ray Schwab; brother - Louis Reisdorf and brother-in-law - Francis Powers, Jr. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at W. S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., 358 W. Main St., Arcade. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:15 am in St. Patrick's Church, 1468 Route 78, Java Center.
