HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Jeffrey Bennett, 22, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 5, 2016. Jeff was born in Poughkeepsie on December 21, 1993. During his childhood, he was very active with the East Fishkill Soccer Club, and he also enjoyed snowboarding. He was a 2012 graduate of John Jay High School where he was on the varsity soccer team and track team. Jeff was currently a junior at SUNY Albany. Jeff blessed the world with his big smile and kind soul. Jeff always made you laugh and drew you in with his charisma. His teachers and teammates admired his competitive nature that made Jeff successful academically and on the field. Jeff is survived by his parents, John and Lisa (Takacs) Bennett of Hopewell Junction; his brother, Tyler Bennett and his fiancée Ashleigh Lawrence of Eighty Four, PA; his grandparents, Daniel and Elizabeth Takacs of Wappingers Falls and Robert and Evelyn Bennett of Peru, NY; his aunts and uncles, David and Patricia Takacs of Pittsburgh, PA, Nancy and Bruce King of Hampton Bay, LI, Donna Takacs of Poughkeepsie, Steven and Dawn Takacs of New Paltz, Susan Caswell of Aiken, SC, Rita Livingston of Jupiter, FL and Jim and Mary Webb of Hopewell Junction, NY; his cousins, Bruce, Julia, Emily, Lindsey, Hannah, Danielle, Sarah, Daniel, Melanie, Zachary and Alexandra; and many friends and former teammates. Calling hours will held on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A memorial service will be held at 4pm.
