Sarah Gunn

Sarah F. “Sally” Gunn, 89, a lifelong area resident, died on January 12, 2017 at the NYS Veterans Home at Montrose. Born in Beacon on January 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Lahey) Lewis. Sally had been employed as an executive secretary at IBM in East Fishkill for over 25 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a parishioner at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. On November 30, 1957 at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction, Sally married Richard Norman Gunn, Sr. who predeceased her on December 25, 2000. She is survived by her children, Richard N. Gunn, Jr. and his wife Susan of Pleasant Valley, Mary E. Wile and her husband Bruce of Poughkeepsie, Sara A. Gunn of Fishkill, Rita Woodcock and her husband Lowell of Hopewell Junction, and Patricia Gunn of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Richard W. Gunn, Alexandra Gunn, Bradley Wile, Daniel Wile, and Olivia, Jordan, and Jonah Woodcock; her sister, Mary Conley of Austin, TX; her sister-in-law, Ann Bueche of Ormond Beach, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Charles Lewis; and her sister, Margaret Tiso. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10 am at St. Denis Church followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
